Cicilline Statement on CBO Score for Senate Health Care Bill

WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman David N. Cicilline (D-RI) issued the following
statement after the Congressional Budget Office projected that 22 million Americans
will lose health insurance by 2026 under the Senate Republican health care proposal:

«This is not a health care bill. It’s a huge tax cut for the wealthy. And it’s not
worth the paper it’s printed on.»

«We should be working to strengthen the Affordable Care Act, bring down premiums,
reduce the cost of prescription drugs, and expand health care coverage. Instead,
Republicans are racing ahead to eliminate health care coverage for 22 million
honest, hardworking Americans, reduce the Medicare Trust Fund, and make deep cuts to
Medicaid just so they can give the wealthiest Americans and insurance companies a
$600 billion tax cut.»

«Middle class families deserve real solutions. They don’t need another broken
promise from Donald Trump and his fellow Republicans.»
