Children’s Cabinet Members to Outline Services for Children, Youth and Families
Funded Through Raimondo’s FY17 Budget Proposal

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (February 26, 2016) – The members of Governor Gina M. Raimondo’s
Children’s Cabinet will outline the programs and services for children, youth and
families supported in Raimondo’s FY17 budget proposal. Directors will discuss
proposed agency appropriations and intended impacts on services. Programs and
services to be covered impact early childhood, middle childhood and young adulthood.

In December, the Children’s Cabinet launched a five-year strategic plan to
strengthen and grow opportunities for children in five areas—physical health,
behavioral health, academic and career readiness, social and civic engagement and
family stability. Chief among the Cabinet’s strategies is to engage in coordinating
budgeting and regular communication regarding investments and opportunities to
integrate services.
