CF officers arrest machete wielding suspect

CENTRAL FALLS – On January 23, 2016 officers responded to 106 Cowden Street for a report of fight between two males; one of which brandishing an edged-weapon.

Upon arrival officers immediately confronted a machete wielding individual – and by such means – he relinquished the weapon by ultimately discarded it to the ground. The armed assailant later identified as George Mojica, 36, of Central Falls was swiftly and without further incident placed into custody.

He was transported to the police station for processing and charged accordingly with assault with intent to commit a felony, possession of knife during the commission of a crime and disorderly conduct.

Mojica was arraigned and held as a Superior Court Violator with a future court date of March 22, 2016. Bail was also set in the amount of $25,000.00 with surety on the new charges.
