after serving as vice president at John Carroll University, in Ohio

BRISTOL, R.I., March 13, 2017 – Brian G. Williams on Monday becomes Roger Williams University’s new vice president for enrollment management and marketing.

Williams’ career has spanned all facets of the enrollment profession at five institutions prior to joining the RWU team. Most recently, he served as vice president for enrollment and institutional analytics at John Carroll University, a Jesuit Catholic university outside Cleveland. And he served as Providence College’s dean of enrollment services from 1998 to 2006.

“Brian is on the cutting edge of how best to recruit students in a world where almost everything is done online,” RWU President Donald J. Farish said. “But he also has a reputation of being a great team leader and team player. We are delighted to welcome Brian back to Rhode Island.”

Since the early 1990s, Williams has worked across admission, financial aid, student retention, assessment, data analytics and institutional strategic planning. His approach to enrollment management embraces strong analytic competency with service excellence to create a campus culture focused on recruiting the future alumni for RWU.

«I am really energized to join the Roger community,” Williams said. “Since my first interactions with the campus and the enrollment team, I believe now is such an important time in the school’s growth to deepen its enrollment management and planning culture. I hope to work across campus and help every member of the community see how they act as partners in enrollment success and in our service to our students.”

Williams earned a doctorate of management degree in 2016 from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. His dissertation focused on the effects of visual analytics on organizational decision making behavior. He often presents at the regional and national level on the strategic use of data visualization and analytics in enrollment management.

In addition to his doctoral degree, Williams earned his master’s degree in higher education administration from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of New Hampshire.
