BARRINGTON – The Barrington Democratic Town Committee overwhelmingly endorsed Gina Raimondo for governor last night. After hearing from each of the candidates in the Democratic Primary, the committee voted to endorse Gina because of her proven track record of solving big problems and commitment to fixing our economy. The final vote tally was 16 for Gina, three for Clay Pell and one for Mayor Taveras.
«We are so proud to be endorsing Gina for governor,» said Chairwoman Mary Alyce Gasbarro. «Gina gets results and she has what it takes to tackle the big challenges facing Rhode Island. She is a tough, courageous, problem solver who will act with urgency to get people back to work, rebuild the middle class and grow the economy in a way that leaves no one behind. Gina will make an extraordinary governor.»
“I’m honored to have such strong support from the Barrington Democrats,” said Gina. «Rhode Islanders are struggling right now and I know we can do better. We need a strategy to build on our strengths and get people back to work. Our challenges are too big to continue applying short term fixes and temporary measures. We have to act with urgency and I’m proud to have the Barrington Democrats on my team.”
