LINCOLN, R.I., Nov. 21, 2017 – The Amica Companies Foundation served as presenting
sponsor of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ National Philanthropy Day
breakfast, held on Friday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Amica was also recognized as a Partner in Philanthropy after being nominated by
Providence Children’s Museum. This award honors people or businesses that have
furthered the achievement of a nonprofit organization’s mission through significant
generosity, outstanding leadership or exemplary volunteer contributions.

“We’re honored to accept this award for our partnership with the museum,” said Ted
Shallcross, senior vice president and general manager at Amica Life and a board
member at Providence Children’s Museum. “The museum enriches the lives of thousands
of children by inspiring and celebrating learning through active play and
exploration, and we proudly support its mission.”

Meredith Gregory, charitable giving coordinator at Amica, presented The Claflin
Company with the Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation Award. That award goes to a
Rhode Island company with 250 or more employees that has demonstrated outstanding
civic and charitable generosity as a donor and through employee volunteerism.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Rhode Island Chapter put on Friday’s
event, which gives nonprofit organizations throughout the state the chance to honor
individuals and businesses for their year-round support.
