UMass Dartmouth joins national online education network
Online programs now more easily accessible to students across the United States
UMass Dartmouth recently became a member of a national network that allows the university to offer its high quality, affordable online degree programs and courses to students in any state or territory in the U.S.
Currently, states have their own online education regulations, which can make it difficult and expensive for universities to offer online programming outside their own state.
The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) works with institutions to ensure that their online education programs meet strict, uniform quality standards that are recognized nationwide. Due to the reputation of SARA and its vetting process, member institutions can more effectively operate on a national level.
“Becoming a member of SARA allows students from across the country to take part in our innovative curriculum no matter their location,” said Mohammad Karim, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. “This brings the UMassD private college experience and public university value to the nation.”
The University is the first UMass campus and one of just three research universities in Massachusetts to gain this status.
