Truck explodes in Fall River
A vehicle hauling 11,000 gallons of gasoline crashed and exploded Monday morning on the route 24 off ramp in Fall River. This was the Massachusetts trucking company’s, J P Noonan, 15th crash in 24 months.
The driver, Lisa Korch, 46, has had her commercial driver’s license since 1992 and has no violations on record. She was not seriously injured in the crash.
According to US Department of Transportation inspection records, J P Noonan vehicles that carry hazardous materials have been inspected 128 times in the past 24 months, with two Noonan vehicles ordered “out of service.” US DOT statistics indicate that record is better than the national average for trucking companies.
