Andrew Loyd Webber is born
On this day in 1948, Andrew Lloyd Webber was born, and he would go on to become one of the most prolific and popular composers of his generation. Webber composed the music for the successful musical shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cats and the Phantom of the Opera, and in the process made an incredible impact on modern music. He worked in over eighteen shows in his career which won him seven Tony Awards, four Grammies and a Golden Globe and an Oscar. In 1992 he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.
