WOONSOCKET, R.I.: Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt and the City of Woonsocket Parks & Recreation Department are pleased to announce the City’s annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday April 4, at Rivers Edge Complex at 12 Noon sharp. Rivers Edge is located on Davison Street. Participants should arrive no later than 11:45 a.m. “This 60 year plus tradition for Woonsocket families marks the beautiful celebration of Easter and the new beginnings of the Spring Season. It is my pleasure to welcome the Easter Bunny to Woonsocket” said Mayor Baldelli Hunt with a smile. The candy covered complex will be divided into three fields for three age groups: 4 and under accompanied with an adult, ages 5-7 and 8-10. Every child will be eligible to enter the free prize raffle drawn after the hunt. Parking is conveniently provided within the complex near the soccer fields and volunteers will be on hand to direct. “Though the field will be covered with over five thousand eggs and thousands of pieces of candy, families are urged to get there early! These yummy treats are quickly gathered in a matter of minutes,” stated Elizabeth Kerrigan, Superintendent of Parks & Recreation. This event is offered for Woonsocket Residents only. Verification of residency will be asked for upon park entrance. Rain date for this event is April 11.
