Seven Confirmed Dead in NY Building Collapse

New York authorities confirmed Thursday that seven bodies were recovered following the collapse of an apartment building Wednesday. At least 20 people were injured and several are still missing. The explosion caused the fire that continued through most of the day and when it got dark rescuers finally managed to enter the enclosure to rescue the victims. Wednesday night rescuers finally managed to control the fire. 11 Injured in Two Building Collapse in NYC

Two buildings collapsed Tuesday in the area of Manhattan in New York City, apparently because of an explosion. A fire spokesman confirmed that there are at least eleven minor injuries. So far there is no information about fatal injuries or if anyone is trapped in the buildings. At about 9:30 local time, firefighters responded to a call about the collapse of a building in East Harlem .
