Sen. Quezada receives committee assignments
STATE HOUSE – President of the Senate M. Teresa Paiva Weed (D-Dist. 13, Newport,
Jamestown) has appointed Sen. Ana B. Quezada (D-Dist. 2, Providence) to serve on the
Senate Commerce and Education committees.
The Commerce Committee considers legislation and matters relating to financial
institutions, business regulation, property and casualty insurance, technology and
telecommunications. The Senate Education Committee is responsible for oversight of
all matters pertaining to public education.
Senator Quezada, a native of the Dominican Republic, is a code enforcement officer
for the Providence Department of Inspection and Standards. She previously worked as
a social service coordinator at John Hope Settlement House.
She and her husband reside in Providence. They are the parents of three children.
