Raimondo Statement on Withdrawal of TrumpCare

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Governor Gina M. Raimondo today released the following statement on the withdrawal of the American Health Care Act legislation from the U.S. House of Representatives:

«Rhode Islanders can breathe a sigh of relief following today’s collapse of TrumpCare. In Rhode Island and across America, we sent a message to leaders in Washington: We will stand up for the millions of Americans whose lives would be put at risk if Congress repeals the Affordable Care Act to give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires. As Governor, I will never stop fighting to protect the health and wellness of 110,000 Rhode Islanders who have affordable, quality health insurance today because of the Affordable Care Act.»
