Raimondo Receives Planned Parenthood Endorsement and Moms Demand ‘Gun Sense Candidate’ Distinction

PROVIDENCE, RI — Governor Gina Raimondo has the support of two major progressive advocacy groups: Planned Parenthood and Moms Demand Action.

“Preventing gun violence and expanding health care access in Rhode Island are core tenets of my administration and my re-election campaign,” said Governor Gina Raimondo. “In partnership with Moms Demand, we passed a ban on bump stocks, red flag legislation and took guns out of the hands of domestic abusers in Rhode Island. Next, we’ll push for a ban on assault weapons.”

Raimondo continued: “Alongside Planned Parenthood, we’ve stood up to the Trump administration’s threats to take away our health care, we’re fighting to enshrine Roe v. Wade in Rhode Island law and we will continue working every day to protect access to health care for Rhode Island women and families.”
