Providence Police conclude investigation into Peter Pan bus fatality

Providence, RI- After an extensive investigation and reconstruction of the Peter Pan
bus fatality which occurred in Kennedy Plaza, there will be no criminal charges
brought against the bus driver, Matthew J. Reidy of Taunton, Massachusetts.

On August 24th at approximately 8:15 a.m. Michelle Cagnon, age 30 of Cumberland, was
struck by a bus being operated by Reidy while she was walking easterly on Washington
Street in Kennedy Plaza. Cagnon died as a result of her injuries and was pronounced
at the scene. The RI Attorney General’s Office assisted Providence Police with this
investigation.
