Port of Providence Sirens Warning System to Be Tested
PROVIDENCE, RI – The Providence Fire Department, in cooperation with the Providence
Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), and the Local Emergency Planning Committee-2,
will test the Port of Providence Sirens Warning System beginning on Tuesday, August
23, 2016, at approximately 12:00PM, continuing for two weeks and ending on September
2, 2016.
Residents and the business community should be aware that the sirens will go off at
approximately 12:00PM on the following days:
* Tuesday, August 23
* Wednesday, August 24
* Thursday, August 25
* Friday, August 26
* Monday, August 29
* Tuesday, August 30
* Wednesday, August 31
* Thursday, September 1
* Friday, September 2
There maybe two or three soundings of the siren each day.
