Judith (Tirado) Vazquez, 76, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday July 13, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Santos Vazquez.Born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Jose and Josefa (Robles) Tirado, she lived in New York before moving to New Bedford in 1975.
Mrs. Vazquez was an active communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, entertaining, and gardening. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Lorraine Ruiz Almonte and her husband Reynaldo Almonte and Cynthia Cortez-Lefevre and her husband Jason Lefevre; her siblings, Alicia Alemar, Gladys Sayar, William Tirado, and Jose Tirado; four grandchildren, Darius Cortez-Riccio, Jason Lefevre, Jr., Jazmyn Lefevre, and Landen Lefevre; and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. She was the mother of the late Steven Ruiz, grandmother of the late Faé-Lorén Cortez-Riccio, and sister of the late Felecita Perez, Ismael Tirado, Dora Bretal, Felix Tirado, Maria Luisa Santana, Sylvia Tirado, and Jose «Cheo» Robles. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 10 AM.
