U.S. News & World Report Ranks New England Institute of Technology's Online Bachelor
Programs No. 8 Nationally
East Greenwich, RI - U.S. News & World Report just released its 2017 Best Online
Programs, a resource used by millions of domestic and international students to
compare the academic quality and value of bachelor's and master's level online
degree programs offered at colleges and universities across the country. Dr.
Douglas H. Sherman, Senior Vice President and Provost at New England Institute of
Technology (NEIT), announced that the university has earned the No.8 spot out of 226
colleges and universities ranked across the country for its online Bachelor of
Science degree programs.
The U.S. News Best Online Programs report is used by students and working adults
seeking online education programs to complete their degree or advance their career
while maintaining a flexible schedule that suits their work and personal
commitments. Rankings are based on factors such as graduation rates, indebtedness of
new graduates and academic and career support services and may be viewed at
http://www.usnews.com/education/online-education/bachelors.
To be considered in the bachelor level rankings, only degree-granting programs
offered predominately online at regionally accredited colleges and universities are
reviewed. The various methodologies used are based on such factors as faculty
credentials and training, student services and technology, and peer reputation.
Rankings and methodologies may be found at
http://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/articles/rankings-methodologies.
U.S. News & World Report states, "The vast majority of students enrolled in these
ranked programs have earned at least some college credit. They are more likely to be
working professionals in their 20s to 40s looking to advance in or change their
careers than be first-time college students. U.S. News & World Report chose factors
that weigh how these programs are being delivered and their effectiveness at
awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time."
Dr. Sherman stated, "New England Tech follows a very innovative process for the
development of all online courses that results in engaging and collaborative online
learning environments. Knowledgeable faculty collaborating with experienced
instructional designers using this innovative process has resulted in this
prestigious recognition of which we are very proud."
