Memorial Day Statement from Governor Gina M. Raimondo

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Governor Raimondo released the following statement today honoring the men and women who have fallen to protect our nation.

«Today, we honor the ultimate sacrifice that men and women have made to protect our nation and preserve our freedom. Those courageous Americans were called into service to defend the founding ideals of our nation and our state. They gave their lives to protect the belief that there is a place here in America for everyone.

«In paying tribute to the fallen, we must also honor all of the men and women who have worn the uniform. I am thankful every day for those who have answered the call to service and for the military spouses, children and parents who support them.»
