Mayor Fung to Welcome Frustrated Residents at Roger Williams One-Way Traffic Change Public Meeting
CRANSTON, RI—Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung on Tuesday night will welcome many
frustrated Cranston and Providence residents at Park View Middle School for a public
meeting about the traffic changes in Roger Williams Park planned to go into effect
June 1.
Mayor Fung stands with the roughly 1,000 residents who’ve signed a petition
expressing concerns about the proposed one-way traffic pattern and the potential for
severe impacts on their neighborhood streets. Additionally, Mayor Fung shares
residents’ frustrations about Providence’s failure to properly notify Cranston city
officials and residents about the proposed changes.
Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza and his staff have been invited to the meeting.
“I am calling Mayor Jorge Elorza to halt this plan to allow for a proper traffic
impact study and give these residents a chance to be heard,” commented Mayor Fung.
“Let’s take a step back and see if we come together and find a solution that
everyone can support.”
