Mayor Fung Balanced the Budget
(Woonsocket) – Prior to Mayor Fung taking office, the City of Cranston was looking at multi-million dollar deficit. In 2018, the City has a balanced budget, with a rainy-day fund of $20 million.
“In order to get the city’s finances back on track, I had to roll up my sleeves and make tough decisions,” said Mayor Fung. “I worked with labor leaders to put two major unions into 401K style plans, saving residents millions. I am proud of the work we have done to save the Cranston taxpayer money while balancing our budget.
It is no secret Rhode Island is in poor finical standing. According to a WPRI report, the next Governor will inherit a $158 million deficit. Rhode Island needs a leader who has proven they can fix finances.
Mayor Fung fixed the finances in Cranston and he will work tirelessly to fix the finances of the State of Rhode Island.
