MAYOR FUNG ASKS VOTERS TO SUPPORT FRIAS

Cranston – Mayor Allan Fung took the opportunity to affirm his endorsement
for Republican Steve Frias, who is challenging House Speaker Nick Mattiello. Fung
also refuted any suggestion that his campaign had any connection to or in any way
coordinated with Progress RI, a special interest group connected to organized labor
that recently mailed a postcard to Cranston residents supporting both Fung and
Mattiello.
«Over the past couple of days, Cranston residents have received a mailer from Progress
RI, a group that is connected with organized labor and which has also been attacking
Mr. Frias,» stated Fung. «I have no connection to this organization and no involvement
with this mailer. Throughout this campaign, I have strongly and unequivocally
supported
Steve Frias. I have personally known Steve for many years. He’s smart, he’s honest
and he will be a strong voice in the General Assembly. He’ll make Cranston proud.
On election day, I ask Cranston voters to join me in voting for Steve Frias.»
