Mayor Elorza Accepting Applications for Summer Fellows
Mayoral Fellowship Program Provides Experience in City Government
PROVIDENCE, RI – Mayor Jorge O. Elorza today announced that his office is accepting
applications for the 2016 Mayoral Fellowship Program.
The Mayoral Fellowship Program offers full-time summer positions to students and
recent graduates interested in gaining meaningful experience in city government.
Mayoral Fellows work under the direct supervision of a Department Director on a
high-impact project designed to improve the quality of life in Providence.
«The Mayoral Fellowship Program will provide students and recent graduates with
valuable first-hand experience on what it is like to work in public service,» said
Mayor Elorza. «I ask all students who are interested in public service and want to
help make a difference in the community to apply for this exciting opportunity.»
Mayoral Fellows will have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of city
program depending upon their individual interests and qualifications. In past years,
Fellows have worked in departments throughout the city including, Healthy
Communities, Arts Culture + Tourism, Planning, Sustainability and in the Mayor’s
Office.
