Langevin to tour Hugh B. Bain afterschool program
WARWICK, R.I.- Congressman Jim Langevin will tour Hugh B. Bain Middle School’s
afterschool program, Bain+2, on Wednesday, April 12 at 3p.m. The program serves
high-risk middle school-aged students.
Bain+2 serves approximately 150 students per year and is funded by the 21st Century
Community Learning Center federal grant program. In addition, Bain+2 is a STEAM+C
site that focuses on getting students college and career ready. Certified teachers
and experts in science, technology, engineering, art and math work with the students
for two hours a day, five days a week.
President Trump’s budget outline contains significant cuts for after school and
summer programs including Bain+2. Students will show Congressman Langevin the
importance of the afterschool program and the impact it has on their lives.
