(Cranston) - As Mayor, Allan Fung has made it a priority to keep Cranston
safe. From fighting the ACLU to keep panhandlers off dangerous intersections,
to increasing community policing stations across the city, he is on the front
lines in building a safer and stronger community.
As Governor, Allan Fung will reform Governor Raimondo's policies that are
making neighborhoods across the state feel less safe. He will reverse her
practice of not notifying immigration officials when criminals here illegally
are to be released after completing their prison sentences. Additionally,
Rhode Island will not continue to follow Raimondo's sanctuary state policies,
nor will it be issuing drivers licenses for those here illegally, in defiance
of federal law.
"In Cranston, we've fought the difficult fights, even when it's politically
difficult, to make our neighborhoods safer. Cranston residents see us trying
harder to keep them safe, versus the policies of the Governor where she sides
with criminals here illegally" said Mayor Fung.
