Department of Human Services Announces New Location for Woonsocket Field Office as of September 1
Some Services to be Limited until Office Completes Transition to New Space
CRANSTON, R.I. (August 30, 2016) – The Rhode Island Department of Human Services
(DHS) Woonsocket field office will open in a new location at 800 Clinton Street in
Woonsocket on Thursday, September 1. Wednesday, August 31 is the last day for
services at the current location at 450 Clinton Street. On September 1, the field
office will re-open at 800 Clinton Street, resuming regular business hours from
8:30am-4:00pm. Customers can contact DHS by telephone at: 1-855-697-4347.
Customers should expect limited services in the new location during the first couple
weeks of operation, as the office completes the transition to the new space. During
this time period, some customers may be referred to field offices in Providence or
Pawtucket for faster service. Customers are encouraged to call the office ahead of
time at 1-855-697-4347 if they have questions about where to go for specific
services. The new location is expected to be fully operational by mid-September.
The new office is easily accessible by public transportation and is within walking
distance from the current office location.
