Coventry Roommates Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography
COVENTRY – The Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes
Against Children (ICAC) Task Force today arrested two roommates in Coventry for
possession of child pornography.
Peter J. Blanchette, age 42, and Anthony Pascone, age 31, both of 34 Columbia
Avenue, Coventry, were charged with possession of child pornography after a
court-authorized search warrant was executed at their residence around 6:30 a.m.
ICAC Task Force members recently initiated an investigation after receiving a
cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)
regarding an individual using a social media application to transfer images of child
pornography. The investigation determined that the internet connection at 34
Columbia Avenue, Coventry was used to facilitate that transfer of the child
pornography.
Earlier today, ICAC Task Force members executed a search warrant at the residence
and identified Blanchette as the alleged suspect of their investigation. Forensic
preview examinations of digital media located in the residence also revealed that
Pascone possessed files of child pornography. Members of the Task Force seized
nineteen (19) items of digital media for further forensic analysis.
