Clean Water Action endorses Sandra Cano in State Senate district 8 special election
PROVIDENCE – Clean Water Action is pleased to announce their endorsement of Sandra
Cano’s candidacy in the special election for the District 8 state senate seat.
“In her time in public service, Sandra has worked tirelessly to make Pawtucket a
safe, healthy, and vibrant community,” said Johnathan Berard, Rhode Island state
director. “We look forward to supporting her continuation of this work as a member
of the Rhode Island Senate.”
Sandra has long supported efforts to expand the community garden network in
Pawtucket and increase access to public transit. She has also played a significant
role in efforts to enact the principles of Smart Growth in Pawtucket’s redevelopment
and turn Broad Street, which connects Cumberland, Central Falls, and Pawtucket, into
the state’s first Green and Complete Street.
“Sandra understands full well the impact that climate change will have on our
state’s economy,” continued Berard. “She has clearly demonstrated her commitment to
ensuring that climate resilience be included as part of the strategy for moving
Rhode Island forward. She has earned Clean Water Action’s endorsement because of
this commitment.”
