Cianci To Lie In Repose Sunday; Funeral Mass Monday

Providence, RI (LPR) – Thousands of Rhode Island residents and others will say their farewells to longtime Mayor Buddy Cianci Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Mourners, including Senator Jack Reed, House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello, President of Providence city Council Luis Aponte and Mayor Jorge Elorza, arrived at Providence City Hall where Buddy is lying in state and lines formed throughout day.


Roberto Torrez, one of the thousands residents of Providence ho came to Know Buddy, waited in the cold before paying his respects. He recalled a time when his son won an award in 1998. It was Cianci who handed out the award.
