Chalkstone River Avenue Homicide in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI- On January 31 at approximately 1:00am Providence Police were
dispatched to the area of Chalkstone and River Avenue for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival police observed blood and glass on the sidewalk but no victim. Police
were then dispatched to Roger Williams Hospital for a report of a male subject shot.
When police arrived at the hospital the victim was identified as a 24-year-old male
who is believed to be a resident of Providence. He was then transported by
Providence Rescue 6 to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at
2:45am. The victim’s name and address are not being released at this time. The
investigation is ongoing.
