Morin wins Democratic primary in Woonsocket

Rhode Island – A special election was held to fill the position vacated by Lisa Baldelli Hunt for State Representative District 49 when she won the elections and became Mayor of Woonsocket. This was the first election in Rhode Island that required voters to show photo identification at the polls.

The President of the Woonsocket Fire Union, Michael Morin, won the primary with 344 votes followed by Douglas Brown who scored 307 votes. While the third candidate Mark Chenot finish with 7 votes
The general election is on 25 February. There is no Republican in the race. The voter ID law was passed in 2011, but until this year, voters could present a non-photo ID.

Rhode Island – Demócratas en Woonsocket realizaron una elección especial para llenar el puesto que dejo vacante la Representante Estatal Lisa Baldelli Hunt por el Distrito 49 cuando ganó las elecciones y se convirtió en Alcaldesa de Woonsocket.l Esta fue la primera elección en Rhode Island que requirió  que los votantes muestren identificación con fotografía en las urnas.
El Presidente de la Unión de Bomberos de Woonsocket Michael Morin gano la primaria con 344 votos seguido de Douglas Brown que obtuvo 307 votos.  Mientras que el tercer candidato Mark Chenot termino con 7 votos

La elección general es el 25 de febrero. No hay republicanos en la contienda. La ley de identificación de votantes fue aprobada en 2011, pero hasta este año, los votantes podría presentar una identificación sin fotografía
