Statement from Congressman David Cicilline Regarding San Bernardino Mass Shooting

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims in San Bernardino and their families. This was the 352nd mass shooting in our country this year. It came just five days after a gunman in Colorado Springs wounded nine people and killed a police officer, an Iraq war veteran, and a mother of two children. More than 12,000 Americans have died in gun-related incidents this year.
‎Just hours before the shooting in San Bernardino, I spoke on the House floor to announce my plans to introduce legislation reauthorizing the Assault Weapons Ban. It is shameful that Congress has done nothing this year to reduce gun violence. And I will continue speaking out until real progress is made.
