Second Homicide in Two Days for Providence

PROVIDENCE – Police have identified the woman who was shot dead in her car next to an elementary school on Sterling Avenue Wednesday night.

The victim is Briana Giorgio, 21, of Cranston, which is the second homicide for Providence in two days. Giorgio was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and pronounced dead.

Police said they don’t believe this murder is related to the death of a 24-year-old woman found dead in her Providence apartment, Ashley Masi, on Tuesday.
