Rhode Island State Police Arrests Fourth Suspect in Ongoing Investigation into Illegal Access and Sharing of Nude Photos from Customers’ Cell Phones and Computers at Flint Audio Video

Colonel Ann C. Assumpico, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety, announces the arrest of a fourth suspect in the ongoing investigation into allegations that current and former employees of Flint Audio Video illegally accessed and shared nude photos found on customers’ cell phones, computers and other electronic devices.

Adam M. Jilling, age 35, of 43 Shady Hill Drive, West Warwick was arrested by members of the Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit at his residence at approximately 6:10 a.m. today. He was charged with:

• Soliciting another to commit a crime (access to a computer for fraudulent purposes)
• Conspiracy

Mr. Jilling was arraigned at Second Division District Court by Associate Judge Hastings and released on $20,000 personal recognizance with a special bail condition of no internet use.

Mr. Jilling is a former sales associate who worked at both Flint Audio Video locations: 77 East Main Road, Middletown, and 35 South County Way, Unit D1, South Kingstown.

An investigation by members of the State Police Computer Crimes unit showed that Mr. Jilling allegedly solicited George Quintal, a store manager at Flint Audio Video in Middletown, to illegally access and share nude images found on customers’ cell phones, computers and other electronic devices.

The investigation revealed that the alleged victims brought computers, cell phones and other electronic devices to Flint Audio Video for repair and Mr. Quintal allegedly searched the electronic files on those devices, without the victims’ knowledge or consent. Mr. Quintal allegedly took photos of nude images found on these devices and shared them with Mr. Jilling, and possibly others, without the victims’ knowledge or permission.

Based on this investigation, members of the State Police Computer Crimes Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Jilling, which was executed today.

George Quintal, age 34, of 774 Jepson Lane, Middletown, was previously arrested on June 15 by members of the Computer Crimes Unit on charges of accessing a computer for fraudulent purposes (three counts) and computer trespass (three counts). In addition, two other employees of Flint Audio Video in Middletown and South Kingstown were arrested on similar charges last week.

The Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit has identified several of the alleged victims found in these photos and videos, but they are still working to identify others.
