Johnston, RI -- Democrat candidate for General Treasurer, Frank Caprio,
today announced the endorsement of his candidacy by the Johnston Democratic
Town Committee.

"Our democratic committee unanimously endorsed Frank's campaign to return
as Treasurer because we trust him to focus on growing the economy, creating
jobs and saving the taxpayers money," said Democratic chairman Richard
Delfino. "We are impressed by his commitment to ending the exorbitant fees
paid to Wall Street out of the pension system. Instead, he will focus on
investing in Main Street Rhode Island through a small business revolving
fund. Frank understands the struggles of middle class families and will be
a strong advocate to get the economy moving again."

The Democratic Committee met last Tuesday night at Pocasset Bay Manor in
Johnston and unanimously backed Caprio to return to the Treasurer's office.
Caprio served as General Treasurer from 2007 until 2010. During his tenure
in office, Caprio worked to make the Treasurer's Office one of the most
efficient and transparent departments in state government. He guided the
state's investments and pension fund through some of the most tumultuous
days in recent history while, at the same time, paying among the lowest
fees in the country.

"I am thrilled to have earned the support of Johnston Democrats." said
Caprio "I can't wait to get back to work for Rhode Island. Together, we
can get Rhode Island's economy back on its feet by reducing the fees paid
to Wall Street, investing in Rhode Island businesses and infrastructure,
and being an open, transparent and responsible steward of our pension
system."

Caprio continues to pick up momentum in the race for Treasurer. In recent
months, Frank Caprio has won the endorsements of North Providence Mayor
Charles Lombardi, Johnston Mayor Joseph Polisena and now the Johnston
Democratic Town Committee.
