Raimondo’s Statement on Trumpcare Vote
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Governor Gina M. Raimondo today released the following statement on the passage of the American Health Care Act legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives:
«I am deeply disappointed in the outcome of today’s vote on the House floor. The Affordable Care Act is working in Rhode Island–we can’t afford to go back. TrumpCare hurts low-income, working Rhode Islanders to give a tax cut to millionaires, and could cost more than 100,000 Rhode Islanders their health insurance. That is nothing short of immoral. I stand with Rhode Islanders and our entire Congressional Delegation as we continue to fight to preserve accessible, affordable health care.»
