Governor Gina Raimondo voted to recall Providence councilman Kevin Jackson

Providence – Raimondo “As I said, everyone should vote their conscious on this one.  I voted to recall Councilman Jackson.  He has done a lot of good things over many years and I think he cares about the community. But at the end of the day this is about people having trust in their government and I think it’s time for him to be recalled so that’s how I voted.  I also want to say I have a bill into the legislator to do campaign finance reform and if that bill passes Kevin Jackson wouldn’t be eligible to be on the ballot because he has so many outstanding board election fees.  So this isn’t personal, this is about good government and making sure people have confidence in their elected officials.”
