Colonel Michael J. Winquist, Chief of Police, announces the second arrest of a Cranston man after allegedly assaulting a woman 24 hours earlier in a wheelchair at a local bus top.
On Wednesday September 21, 2016 at 6:19 pm Cranston Police received a 9-1-1 from a handicapped woman in a wheelchair. This same woman is an alleged victim of an assault by Emile Perrault, age 55, of Cranston R.I. yesterday. Officers received information that Perrault was yelling vulgarities and swearing at the victim, referencing the alleged assault that he was charged with and released on personal recognizance a day earlier.
Officers arrived on scene and took Emile Perreault into custody without incident. He will be held overnight at the Cranston Police station and brought to Kent County Courthouse tomorrow morning for arraignment, due to the fact he violated the terms of his release. Charges for this latest incident include the following:

• Intimidation of a witness/victim of crime, 11-32-5
• Disorderly conduct, 11-45-1
