Manni, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety, announces that members of the Rhode Island State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) have arrested seven people in connection with two shooting incidents in the city of Providence.

These arrests are the result of a long-term joint investigation led by the Rhode Island State Police HIDTA Task Force in conjunction with the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General and the Providence Police Department. This investigation is active and ongoing and more arrests are expected.
