Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt Invites Woonsocket Jobseekers to Attend Job Fair at City Hall on Tues., April 30, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
WOONSOCKET, R.I.: All of those seeking new employment or additional job opportunities are invited to attend a job fair which will feature over 25 employers from the U.S. Census Bureau, the military and Woonsocket-based proprietors scheduled at City Hall on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the third floor in Harris Hall and the Second Floor Conference Room.
“This job fair can directly link an applicant with an open position.” said Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt. “Searching for suitable work can be a grueling and frustrating process. Unlike submitting applications online, this job fair provides the chance for a jobseeker to speak directly with a prospective employer. Come prepared, ready to impress and actively network with company representatives. I know they are looking forward to meeting you.”
Amazon, Bank of America, CVS Health, Landmark Medical Center, Navigant Credit Union, Randstad staffing, Rhode Island Army National Guard, Travelers Transit, Inc., and The City of Woonsocket and the Woonsocket Education Department are among some of the scheduled exhibitors. Representatives will be on-site to discuss open part and full-time jobs in clerical, custodial, housekeeping, environmental, food service, inventory, medical, mental health, secretarial, security, transportation and warehouse among others. Attendees should bring multiple copies of their resume to submit along with applications.
Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt encourages all Woonsocket residents and others who are looking for employment to reserve time for attending the job fair which is specifically designed to serve as an efficient employment search tool. The event is the third of its kind that the City has held in collaboration with the Rhode Island Department of Labor (DLT) and the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce since 2015.
“Our event has a proven track record in connecting workers with their next employer. Now in its third year, this job fair is responsible for making many successful matches. Numerous repeat exhibitors will be participating as a testament to its effectiveness,” noted Mayor Baldelli-Hunt.
