PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Governor Gina M. Raimondo today released the following statement:
“On Veterans Day, we express our profound gratitude to the brave men and women
who have answered our nation’s call to serve and protect us. We will never
forget that the freedoms we enjoy as Americans are safeguarded by the service
and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.
“In Rhode Island, we are committed to fulfilling our sacred responsibility to
our veterans and their families. With the appointment of our state’s first Director
of Veterans Affairs, we have strengthened our ability to support the more than
70,000 veterans who call Rhode Island home. While we take a special moment on
Veterans Day to recognize those who have served, we have made significant progress
to ensure we support our veterans every day.”
