Pawtucket Police arrest 3 people, including double-shooting suspect of Central Falls
On July 20, 2016 at approximately 1800hrs, Pawtucket Police
responded to the 94 Japonica St for a report of shots fired related
to a road rage incident. Upon arriving at the scene, officers were
informed by the victims that occupants of a UHaul truck, cut in
front of their vehicle, pointed firearms at them and then fired
several rounds in their direction. Although, their vehicle was stuck
several times, none of the victims were injured. During this time,
Central Falls Police made notification that they were searching for
a UHaul truck involved in a shooting in their city.
As the unoccupied UHaul truck was being secured at the scene,
information was developed that several males had fled the vehicle
and entered 136 Park St. A perimeter was established around the
dwelling and additional officers responded, including members of the
Central Falls PD. After several attempts were made to have the
suspects come out of the apartment, members of the Pawtucket and
Central Falls Police Departments, including a CFPD K9 unit, were
forced to gain entry into the 1st floor apartment. Despite
attempts made by the suspects to barricade the door, entry was
gained and three suspects were arrested hiding inside the apartment.
Seized inside the apartment were 4 firearms and ammunition, along
the a small quantity of narcotics.
There were no injuries sustained by the officers during this high
risk incident, however one of the suspects did suffer minor injuries
as a result of a bite from the K9. Area residents expressed their
gratitude for the police response and the positive resolution to
this dangerous situation.
The following were charged with felony assault and firing in a
compact area, with additional charges to be determined.
