1,000+ Jobs, $150-Million Development Coming to RI’s Innovation and Design District
Governor Gina M. Raimondo announced Tuesday that Wexford Science & Technology has
secured two anchor tenants for its Innovation Center, a $150-million, commercial
development in the Innovation and Design District, also known as the I-195 land.
The Innovation Center has secured leases with the Cambridge Innovation Center and
Brown University’s School of Professional Studies in a project slated to bring more
than 1,000 jobs and an additional $100 million in revenues to the state over the
next 20 years.
«The project is expected to spark innovation, entrepreneurship, and job development
in the 195 district, and have a lasting impact on Providence’s skyline and on our
state economy,» Governor Raimondo said.
Construction on this transformative project is expected to begin in the second quarter
of 2017.
