Special Investigative Unit nabs drug dealer selling cocaine in school zone
CENTRAL FALLS – On May 6, 2017 at approximately 8:00pm, members of the Central Falls Police Department’s Special Investigative Unit (SIU) apprehend 28-year-old Delfino Catalan Vargas while he was parked in the area of Bagley Street and Lonsdale Avenue after receiving information that he was distributing narcotics from his vehicle in the vicinity of nearby school.
During the search – executed from a court authorized warrant – investigators found a substantial quantity of cocaine with a street value of approximately $2000 inside Vargas’ vehicle. He was subsequently placed under arrest and his vehicle seized. Vargas was arraigned today on the charge of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and distribution of a controlled substance near a school zone. He was ordered held on $20,000 surety bail.
